Working Magick while having a Chronic Illness

Hi Readers,

Yesterday, I mentioned on twitter how I was dealing with a personal health issue. I thought this would be a good opportunity to discuss how I view working magic while dealing with a chronic illness. In 2018, I was diagnosed with an illness known together as inflammatory bowel disease. They are further divided into two main diseases Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis. You can read more about it here

In my case, I didn’t know for a long time which of the two I had. Now I know I have Crohn’s disease. This disease has no cure but can be managed.

In terms of working magic while being sick in general, I will not do anything unless it has to do with healing. However, I will note that I have done spells for other matters while sick, but it is dependent on how I am feeling. If I am having symptoms like a fever I will most likely not do anything because I know I will not be able to focus. However, If I feel well enough and I have rested, made sure I have kept up my fluids, taken any medications, and so forth I will work a spell.

Generally, If I have major issues and not feeling well, I will focus on healing myself using things I already have while still taking medications. Even taking medications can become a magical act with the right intention, focus, and will. When I was dealing with issues related to my disease, I used the medication they gave long with other recommendations. However, I used crystals with healing properties as well to help me heal. I created a small healing crystal grid near me. I realize this may not seem like magic, but it was I took all the steps I usually take while working aside from making sure I had a clear intention. I made sure I could focus, visualize, and I raised some energy. I did not do it in a ritualistic way at that point. Also, I used the medications I was given as part of the spell as well. The results were that the spell I did plus all the stuff I was doing as part of the recommendations helped in my recovery process. I think everything in combination helped the process work more effective and efficiently. Lastly, I want to note that I really went back to my roots in terms of the things I learned in the beginning of my practice. Especially, when I was hospitalized and even when I got home. I spent time outside when I could, I grounded, centered, and worked on my visualization in addition to focus when I felt well enough. I feel that by doing so I was able to still work any magic I could to help me heal.

I am doing a lot better for the most part. I still have my issues, but I can still live a normal life.

Many Blessings!!
