Why I am currently a solitary practitioner.

Hi readers,

Over the past few days I have been thinking about my practice. Since the beginning I have always practiced alone. The only instances I have practiced with other people is with a few friends and with a group online a long time ago. However, those interactions were short and brief. They had an impact for sure and I am grateful for having those experiences. Further, I have been thinking about my life as a Witch and why I am still currently a Solitary practitioner.

Mostly, it is out of necessity right now as I don’t know of very many groups around me. In addition, transportation is a big issue and I am not someone who wants to commit to something that I know I may have trouble getting to something like regular coven meetings or anything else that comes up. Further, when I did seek out a group it was difficult because of transportation in addition to the fact that the place in which we would be meeting was not likely to remain a constant meeting place. Also, I wasn’t sure If I was going to be staying in the area and I didn’t want to start something that I couldn’t complete.

However, despite all of this I hope to join a coven one day and I have found some amazing people online that I truly feel honored to know. I am grateful for things like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and other forms of social media as I have made great friends that way. Also, I am grateful for all the experiences I have while currently being a solitary practitioner.

Some of the  things I enjoy about it are the fact that I can practice anywhere I don’t have to worry about transportation as much unless I decide to practice in the middle of nowhere, also I enjoy the fact that I can learn at my own pace, and finally I enjoy learning on my own about various topics. This isn’t to say that I couldn’t learn with others I know I could, but I know that not everyone has the same interests. Additionally, I do have some issues with being solitary one of which is coming together and knowing people who practice what you do eve if it is not always in the same way, I also would like to celebrate things like holidays such as the Solstice with other likeminded people. Further, I feel like If I was in a coven, I would get to learn alongside others in addition to learning different ways of practicing and I will get to have a community as well. Finally, even with all of the drawbacks I am grateful to be a Solitary practitioner because of what I have mentioned but also for all of the experiences I have yet to discover such as what If I want to branch out of a different form of Witchcraft that I am practicing currently, and I like to see how much I have grown and will grow within my own personal practice.

What about you? Are you currently a Solitary practitioner? If so, do you have any experiences or thoughts to share? If so, leave a comment!

Many Blessings!!
