My Thoughts On Magic for personal Gain.

Recently, I was browsing through Facebook and I came across a post that inspired me. I am on several groups some of which pertain to Witchcraft and Paganism. One post has inspired me to cover a topic that I see discussed regularly but I feel like it turns into a debate and I feel like many people get more confused or unsure. Can be found here.  This topic is something I myself didn’t really consider as I began practicing. I thought magic was something to be used as a last resort of when I really needed something, I couldn’t get any other way. However, I didn’t even consider the idea of using magic for my own reasons such as to get money or a job. Further, I didn’t see an issue with it because my thought was and still is how can help others If I can’t help myself? Additionally, I don’t the media is all to blame either though I do think it plays a big part of it. With shows like Charmed both the original and newer (Yes, I have seen it) both warning of issues when using magic for oneself. I think a lot of newer people coming into Witchcraft get more confused on the subject. Don’t get me wrong I will use magic to assist others as well, but I am not against using it for myself either. Moreover, I’d like to point out that If you did magic for other people and not for yourself how can you be sure that it will work for you? The reason I ask this question is because what If you are new at your practice or you are unsure about the success of the spell? What If it doesn’t and the person does not believe you can do what you claim? Now, I realize that it is an extreme example, but my main point is If you don’t use magic for yourself what personal experience do you have within your life that illustrates that magic has changed and has personally impacted your life? I don’t mean to say that you can’t do magic for other people, you shouldn’t feel like something terrible will happen or feel guilty because you are using magic for yourself. Finally, you should consider all consequences for both yourself and when you’re working magic for others regardless of what it is even before casting the spell. Now, this is just my opinion.
