4 Things I have learned in 2019

HI Readers,

With 2019 coming to an end I thought I would share 4 things I have learned throughout the year. I chose the number 4 because it is a number that has repeatedly been popping up lately and I feel that it encapsulates everything that has happened throughout the year.

This list is not exhaustive because we are always learning, and I thought I would share some of the major points of what I learned. I wanted to share this with you because this has been a year of challenges and accomplishments. Some of the items on this list have a lot to do with my path as a Pagan even if it doesn’t seem like it. All of this said, here are 4 things I have learned in 2019:

  1. Staying present in every moment: This one is first on the list because meditation is something, I made a point to do as much as possible every day. Even if it was once a day. I can say that it is something I still struggle with but this year I made sure to be more present even when I was not meditating. Further, this is on here because even though I have been working on this for years 2019 is the year I focused on it more so, due to having a major setback in 2018 which caused me to revaluate everything.
  2. Transitions are ok and necessary: This year I finished school which is a transition for me. Further, I am possibly relocating within the next year which is also a transition. This relates to my path because certain aspects of it are changing which I am ok, but I am also struggling. I have learned this year that these transitional moments are important for us to grow and explore different aspects of ourselves on all levels. Finally, these transitions are rituals in and of themselves which is something that plays a significant role for me.
  3. I learned to speak up: I am a talkative individual and speaking is something I am good at. Also, I enjoy conversing with others. However, speaking up for myself is something I am good at, but I do struggle with it. Mainly in reference to timing or how to deliver the message. Depending on the subject also plays a major role. However, this year I have learned to speak up for what is important to me and in doing so has helped others. This connects to my path because words have power. Understanding how words no matter how they are communicated can affect the people and world around you is important. This is something I am still learning.
  4. I reconnected with everything: The major setback I mentioned above is that I was dealing with a major health concern. This in turn caused me to revaluate what was important in addition to allowed me to reconnect. Social media in addition to other forms of media play a major role in our lives whether we realize it or not. When this happened, I did not post it anywhere. Further, I reconnected with myself, in recovering last year I reconnected with people, and I reconnected with nature. I made it a point to keep those connections going throughout this year. I spent more time outside than I normally did. This year I traveled to familiar and unfamiliar places which allowed me to reconnect with old friends and reconnect to the places around me.

I look forward to 2020 to see what I learn and what I get to explore. I hope that this post has allowed you to reflect on this year. What are some of the things you have learned in 2019?

. Many Blessings!!
