Sharing Two Self Care practices I use.

HI Readers,

This post may be rather all over the place. I recently learned of some news that is really disheartening to say the least. I do not wish to share just because it is rather personal. That said, I want to share two selfcare practices that are getting me through the time we are all in, along with the personal struggles.

Journaling.

I was inspired by a close friend to start a regular daily journal. I have kept several diaries and some other types of journals throughout my life. However, I have either stopped, had no time for writing, lost the hardcopy I kept, stuff got deleted, or something else. However, over the past nearly month I have been writing consistently. I have made a part of my everyday daily practice. This in turn, has allowed me to keep more records within other aspects not just the everyday stuff. I am writing more about my practice in addition to other parts. I do not separate magick from the everyday life, and through journaling I am able to work through things. I can see how my thoughts emerge, how patterns form, work through personal struggles, and emotional issues. It is not a substitute for professional care, but it can be a tool like any other. Journaling give me a safe judgmental free space to put my thoughts to paper/electronic document. I do not have to worry about anyone reading/listening/something else regarding what I write. Prior to writing and starting a journal I researched how journaling could help. Through my research I found out that journaling has several benefits such as reducing stress, anxiety, and a lot of others I can not even remember. If you have yet to start a journal, I would highly recommend trying it. Even If it just writing on your phone, tablet, computer, or regular pen/paper. Use what you have.

Meditation.

I know I mention meditation left and right. I talk about on my videos and write about it constantly. Its because meditation is getting through my days in isolation, personal losses, and everything else. Obviously, it is not a cure or quick fix for anything that I am going through however, meditation is one of the many tools I use. Meditation allows me to be more present, mindful, and focused. Meditation helps me cope with my emotions, assists me with reducing stress. I can only share my experiences. I am not an expert on meditation or will I claim to be. I just know that it is helpful for my form of selfcare and within my overall practice.

I hope that by me sharing these practices that my experiences will help you decide If you like to try any of them. If you have a self-care practice what does it look like? Leave a comment below! I think it could help others and start a discussion.
