Sharing my perspective: Meditating with Crystals.

Hi Readers,

Over the last month or so I have been making a point to stick to a routine that includes more meditation. Thus far, I tried everything from meditating with music, to guided, and most notably using crystals.

A rather large piece of amethyst with hues of light to dark purple is resting on a counter. It is rough and feels more like stone and contains pointy crystals on one side.
This is the amethyst I have been using to meditate with.

The above photo is the amethyst I have been working with during my meditations. I wanted to share from my perspective how I choose the crystals for meditation along with sharing an experience. Moreover, resources will be provided on meditation with crystals. I was inspired by a meditation I tried this morning.

Choosing The Crystal.

Depending on what you are focusing on during meditation is it important to choose carefully what crystal will best support your goal. In my case, I chose amethyst for helping me with furthering my intuitive development and psychic abilities. I recognize that amethyst is known for assisting with intuition along with helping keep calm which is something I have also been working on. Furthermore, when I chose to begin meditating, I made sure to be clear about my goal. I did this by thinking about what I wanted to achieve through meditation. As far as choosing crystals are concerned start with the goal you are trying to achieve. Are you trying to focus on your intuition? Amethyst is a good choice; however, you could also use Unakite which is good for intuition along with balancing emotions. Several crystals exist for all kinds of purposes which is why I say start with the goal. For example, are you meditating to ease anxiety? Then, I would recommend using black tourmaline for removing negativity along with unakite. However, these are just my experiences with working with these specific crystals, but it is up to you. A final note on choosing crystals would be to not just go down a list of crystals online I would highly recommend spending time with a crystal for a week or more to connect with it. Hold it in your hands, meditate with it, keep it nearby. This way it will connect with your energy and you will learn how you feel working with it. Also, this way you get to know how that individual crystal works with your energy and get to know the energy of that crystal.  Use the books/websites as guides. Once you have figured out how that crystal works with you specifically move on to another crystal doing the same process.

Preparing For the Meditation.

Everyone has a different way of preparing for meditation. Some people cleanse the space with sage or some other herb. Some people burn a candle, defuse an oil, or burn incense. Use what works for you to put yourself in a calm clear state of mind. For me I like to sit or be near my altar, use a meditation chime I own, or ring a bell to get started. I take a few deep breaths and grab my crystal. This does change from day to day based on the time I have. So, this can be a simple as complex as you need to. Try a few things and see what works. I can tell you that working in a sacred space or a space that is full of calm, peaceful energy helps. Having that space set aside can help you focus on the meditation and it just feels like you are in a different place altogether. Finally, you can sit, or lay down depending on the meditation. I do not like to fall asleep, so I tend to sit down. Also, if it is a guided meditation then follow those instructions. These are just ways in which I like to prepare but you can prepare in what works best for your situation.Preparing for The Meditation.

Sharing my crystal meditation Experience.

I was inspired by This guided  meditation with Amethyst that I tried this morning as of this writing. Since I had already been working with amethyst, I found it easy to do and I felt calmer, and more focused. I am putting this here because it is a good meditation to start with. I found my experience to be really worth trying again as I found that I connected with the energy more so of the crystal along with the person guiding me through it made me feel calm and gave good instructions. I feel that it is a good beginner meditation with crystals. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to try. If you are using a different crystal, then search for one based on that or try something else like music to help you meditate with it in case you can not find something.

I hope that this post and the video that is on my channel helps you with some ideas on meditating with crystals. If you have question or concerns, please leave a comment.
