All about Music and my practice.

Hi Readers,

Lately, I have been listening to a lot of music along with nature sounds. The nature sounds are mainly used to help me relax along with Using them for meditation. However, within my personal practice I find music to be a vital component. I have used music in every ritual and spell I have done since the start of my practice. I have used music within ritual such as during a Full Moon and Sabbat celebration. Further, I have used music to help raise energy in addition to using music to help me meditate prior to casting a spell. This like anything in my practice changes and I do not use it in the same way or use the same music. I base this on the ritual and spell in question in addition to what I may be evoking into the space. I do not want to use music that is not suitable for the purpose of the spell I create nor do I want the music to be seem chosen at random. Moreover, I prefer music without lyrics. Why? I do not want the lyrics to distract me unless the lyrics fit. I want to make sure the spell I am casting is directly related to the music I play during the casting process.

How I go about choosing the music will be based on the spell or ritual itself, the intention, the overall goal the spell is trying to accomplish, my intuition, and most importantly how I crafted the spell. I have used everything from nature sounds like rain, storms, to metal, wrap, house, and other forms of music. I have also created music whether through singing a chant I create rather than intoning, or through clapping, movement in a specific form, or something else. I feel like music can be one of the most creative expressions of magick. Whether I create a simple chant and beat to go with it, or I do something else like playing an instrument. I find music to be inspirational for my magickal workings and rituals. I feel that using music allows for me to match the energy I am vibrating to assist in manifesting what I choose, I feel that music can get me into a meditative state more  effectively while casting, among other benefits. If you have not used music within your practice in some form I encourage you to do so. Start with your spell, ritual, and go from their. What you create or choose will help your practice. I was inspired to write this post while listening to music. in my opinion, music is a form of vibration and energy that encapsulates everything you could possibly want to achieve it is a form of magick all its own. Lastly, I could expand this discussion further but I thought this would be a good starting point.

Do you use music as part of your practice? What role does it play?
