A Blessed and safe Beltane!

Hi Readers,

Welcome to May and blessed Beltane! During these times I think it is important now more than ever for us to celebrate even it is just lighting a candle, making seasonal food such as using different spices like cinnamon, peppers, and other seasonal items. Those are just some ideas I came up with that I could think of on how to celebrate. Further, Beltane has been celebrated as a fertility festival from what I have read and I have a few resources at the end of this post. Beltane was one of the first Sabbats or holidays I heard about and I have always celebrated in some way ever since I’ve started.

This year, I am having a simple and small celebration alone normal for me yet it still feels different. I may do something with others this weekend but I am not sure. If you are in a group you could try to meet via zoom or something else. Even via phone can work and I have a good article I just found yesterday concerning celebrating during these times. Today, I am lighting a candle for healing in addition to performing a ritual and providing offerings. I am burning incense that I feel marks the occasion and I am celebrating life. I am celebrating and asking for healing for the world and communities that surround me. These are not the only ways I am sure many of these ideas can be expanded on. We can all celebrate Beltane even though we are isolating and cannot physically come together. This is a good time to celebrate all we have.  However, you choose to celebrate I hope you have a safe, and healthy Beltane.
