Thoughts on Purchasing Witchcraft items locally and online.

Hi Readers,

Last week, I was searching for a metaphysical shop in a different area from my home as I was to be in the area the following day. However, I only found a store that was further away. So, I got curious and began looking for other stores within my own area. I was surprised to see that a new store has popped up and I researched them. I found out they are online only which I have no issue with, however I do consider several points when purchasing anything for my personal practice.

I have a store that I go to when I am looking for something like a crystal, some herbs, along with items for divination like pendulums or cards. However, I do like to support local businesses metaphysical or not when I can. So, If I visit a city regardless of where it is, I will support the stores within that city which I believe we all should. I believe that we do not need anything to practice Witchcraft or Paganism. However, I do own several physical items that has helped my practice and I do believe that it is important to support the people who make them. I have seen a lot of handmade items both related to the practice and not, regardless I believe it is important to support those people. Furthermore, quality is another important point that I think is relevant. I think regardless of what you buy you should know where it comes from, especially concerning items like crystals, oils, and herbs. Researching the store and talking to owners can help along with researching the herbs, oils, and crystals. Understanding how they grow, form, and are harvested is important. Moreover, I realize that I may sound contradictory regarding this topic I have no issue with using items within my practice, but If I am looking for something specific, I want to make sure the item is of good quality. I want to purchase from someone I either know or I get recommended to. Also, If I can visit.

the store more than once to see how I feel about it. I treat it the same way I treat any other business.

For those of you who do not have stores around you I would say supporting online shops is a good option as is purchasing things from your grocery or dollar stores. Depending on what you are looking for I am sure you can work around it or find something else to use. I have been a Witch on a budget and in some ways I still am.

As far as locating a store I googled around within my area. For online stores I have not really purchased from one with the exception of TheMoonLightShop If you are looking for Pagan/Wiccan  apparel this is a good place to buy from. The shipping is fast and as far as I am aware, they ship internationally. Also, I purchased from one other place, which is no longer offering items. *I am not sponsored in any way by anyone!!*

Another option I have seen people do online which is not limited to Witchcraft is purchasing a subscription box. From what I have seen online you get a box with various items along with booklets in addition to the box having a specific theme. These are great for people who do not live geographically close to any form of metaphysical shop or for people who do not have stores around.

What ever you decide to do when purchasing any items is up to you. Think about If you really need the item in addition to doing research. Also, remember that supporting both local shops and online shops is perfectly fine. I shop from both places depending on what I am looking into purchasing along with considering the different parts of the situation. Finally, I believe keeping these points in mind can help us within our practice along in our everyday lives.
