Musings on meditation in my life and practice.

Hi readers,

Over the past few weeks I have been having different conversations with people about meditation. A lot of people tell me that meditation is not for them or that it just doesn’t work.

For me personally, I believe that meditation works for everyone it just depends on how you learn in addition to circumstances. I want people to understand that I struggle with meditation sometimes perhaps not in the same way you might be struggling. I struggle with finding enough time to meditate in addition to finding the right place. Also, I struggle with making it a priority when I need it most. I have been consciously making it a point to meditate more regularly and for me currently it is at least once a day.

As I stated previously, I go between using guided meditations and not using them at all. I have been trying to be more mindful of my surroundings and to be more present in the moment. I tend to get caught up in life in addition to the fact that I have an active mind.

Despite my struggles I have found meditation to be the most valuable tool for me not just in life but in my practice. I have periods where I struggle with focusing so I meditate to help fix the issue. Also, before I craft a spell or do any kind of research for a spell, I will meditate to help me get into a more centered and calm state. Further, during the crafting process this includes researching ingredients and other items I will meditate before proceeding. For how long it depends on when I am casting or crafting in addition to how much time I have.

Either way, I make it a point to incorporate some form of meditation into the process before I do even if it is only for 5 or 10 minutes.

One thing that is important to me about meditation is where I meditate. I like a quiet space most of the time, but I also like to be outside. So, If the weather is nice, I will sit outside and meditate. Even though I live in a busy neighborhood with lots of traffic, people, etc. I still enjoy meditating outside.

If the weather isn’t permittable for going outside I will meditate inside mostly near my altar.

Since time is a factor for me, I will schedule my meditation sessions when I know I have enough time or just perform a short meditation. When I have a lot of time in my schedule, I try to meditate at my altar this is usually before or after giving offerings depending on the situation.

I also go through periods where life just happens, and meditation isn’t possible for one reason or another. If this happens, I just do it the next day or do more than one that day.

I just thought I would share some thoughts and ideas on what I do in terms of meditation and my practice.

Do you have any tips, experiences, or thoughts? Please feel free to share!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms and as always, I wish you peace and blessings during this week!

Many Blessings!
